Ebay Selling Collects $14,000 for Vintage Barbie Doll

A Vintage Barbie Doll recently sold on eBay for $14,600. Dated as a 1959 first release Barbie, the blond doll created quite a stir on eBay, due to her pristine condition and original (intact) make-up, nail polish, wedding clothes, accessories, and packaging..

The opening bid started at $10 on April 2nd, 2009. Ten days later the Barbie had received 23 bids from the 8 bidders who participated in the frenzied auction. Over 5,900 people had clicked on the auction to take a closer look at the stunning doll.

According to James Massey, publisher of WhatSellsBest.com, a free website which tracks top selling eBay items. “Vintage Barbie’s are appear to be in high demand, despite the current economy”

Massey added; “Seventeen (First release Barbie’s) have fetched final eBay selling prices between $2,000 to $8,000 in just the last 90 days. But none seemed to come close in price to this top seller” (Sold for $14,600)
