FOUND - $695,000 Vase Discovered in AtticHONITON, UK - The Daily Mail reports a homeowner received an unexpected surprise when an old vase he found in the attic fetched $695,000 (£488,000). The vase, a puce-enameled blue and white dragon moon flask, was from the Imperial Court of the 18th century Qianlong period. According to the article the owner had no idea of its rarity or value. FOUND - $80,000 for Antique CabinetLITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS - Antiques Roadshow found a circa 1730 English Giltwood Cabinet-on-Stand worth $80,000 - $120,000 during a valuation. The cabinet was appraised by Leslie Keno of Leslie Keno Art Advisory. Mr. Keno also said the cabinets value could be boosted with a $20,000 - $30,000 investment into the $150,000 - $250,000 range, by having it properly conserved and regilded. FOUND - $40,000 for Antique Cosmetic CaseSPOKANE, WASHINGTON - Antiques Roadshow found a 17th century Chinese Huanghuali Cosmetic Case worth $40,000-$60,000 during a valuation. FOUND - $200,000 'Unwanted' PaintingsSPOKANE, WASHINGTON - Antiques Roadshow has discovered two paintings by Amadeo de Souza Cardoso (1887 - 1918). The paintings were conservatively valued at $200,000 - $300,000 by Gene Shapiro of Shapiro Auctions. The surprised owner said she never liked the paintings and thought they may have ended up at Goodwill if she hadn't made it to the show and learned the value.
